A granddad who was cut with a saw in his own bed while being attacked by a pair of cowardly burglars has revealed his injuries in a bid to catch the culprits. Shocking photographs show the pensioner’s injuries which were inflicted on him in his own home on December 1.
West Midlands Police said two men burst through his door on Dormington Road in Kingstanding, Birmingham, at around 3am before launching a vile attack.
The 65-year-old suffered a fractured breastbone and was kicked and punched before the intruders fled with cash. More than a month later, he is still recovering from his injuries and has even required hospital treatment for his wounds.
The man, who does not want to be named, has now come forward with the help of Police to release images of his battered arms and legs.
West Midlands Police hope the pictures will lead to information about the thug and the “horrible ordeal” the pensioner went through.
Detective Constable Richard Marsh from West Midlands Police CID said the men were “masked,” both white and in their early 20s.
He urged them to “consider what they’ve done” and come forward as it was a “horrible ordeal” for the victim who is still suffering from “emotional distress”.
