After Dispatch’s media reported that all GOT7 members would not renew their contract with JYP Entertainment. Today, Monday, January 11, the agency gave an official statement.
“JYP had a thorough discussion with the GOT7 members before their exclusive contract period ended on January 19. As a result, the two parties agreed not to renew the contract and hoped for a new future,” read the statement.
According to JYP Entertainment, GOT7 has emerged as a global group that represents K-pop since their debut.
“We thank GOT7 for being part of the development of K-pop and JYP, as well as IGOT7 and all the fans who have been a source of motivation for GOT7’s activities with support since their debut.”
Closing the statement, JYP Entertainment said they would support the careers of GOT7 members wherever they are.
GOT7 is a boy group under JYP Entertainment which debuted in 2014 with the song Girls Girls Girls. This debut put them on the Billboard charts.
GOT7 consists of Mark, BamBam, Jackson, Youngjae, Jinyoung, Yugyeom. and JB. They had competed roles in the web series, Dream Knight, in 2015.
During our career together, GOT7 released five studio albums and 15 mini albums. They ended the series of promotions by releasing the album Breath of Love: Last Piece which consists of two main songs: Breath and Last Piece.
