Some time ago, a number of residents’ houses in Kuala Selat Village, Kateman District, Indragiri Hilir (Inhil) Regency, Riau were destroyed due to being hit by a tidal wave.
The Regent of Inhil, HM Wardan, also came to visit the Kuala Selat Villages to see first hand what was happening.
On this occasion the Regent said that the Inhil Regency Government had submitted assistance to the Ministry of Social Affairs.
“Praise the Lord (Alhamdullilah), we got 80 housing units and 26 simple emergency response assistance units,” explained the Regent.
When he came to the coastal area, the Regent also handed over assistance to residents whose houses were damaged.
“For this reason, today I go straight to review and distribute aid to residents who are victims of this disaster. Besides, we all know that Kuala Selat is very vulnerable to abrasion caused by tidal waves. Therefore, residents are expected to be careful and alert. against similar incidents because this tidal wave that occurs has a time and season, “the Regent said.
