Now, Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has a transgender superhero in their comic, Sera.
But until now, these characters have not been displayed in serial or widescreen format.
Sera was originally one of the Anchorites, a rare race of Heven angels, one of the Ten Realms of Asgardian cosmology.
The Anchorites are all male, but Sera always knew that she was a woman.
He grew up locked in a temple. After helping Asgardian heir to the throne Aldrif Odinsdottir (Angela) defeats the monsters that are attacking the temple, Angela helps Sera bring the truth to life.
Sera then lives with Angela in her house. Then, after hunting fugitives together, they make out and start a relationship.
There are so many requests for transgender characters in the MCU. Fans have even said it’s time for the MCU to follow in DC’s footsteps and add transgender superheroes to their universe.
DC has added the transgender character Nia Nal – played by transgender actress Nicole Maines – to their fourth series of TV shows Supergirl. He is the first transgender superhero on television.
Speaking at the New York Film Academy event, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige was asked if there are plans to bring more LGBT + characters “into the Marvel world – specifically the T, trans character?”
“Yes, of course, yes,” he replied. “And soon – in the film, we’re making now.”
Reportedly, Sera’s character will appear in the Loki series that airs on Disney +.
Is that the transgender superhero Feige is referring to? There has been no further explanation about this.
