Bogor Regency, West Java Province is facing 35 natural disasters during the first three weeks of 2021.
“BPBD has recorded 35 disasters that have occurred in 19 sub-districts since the beginning of this year, most of them landslides,” said Bogor Regent Ade Yasin in Cibinong, Bogor, as reported by Antara, Thursday, January 21, 2021.
Ade said that the extreme weather in the last few days covering the Bogor Regency area had caused natural disasters.
The landslides occurred around Gunung Mas, Cisarua, on the evening of Sunday, January 10 and in Cipeundeuy, Pamijahan, on Monday, January 11.
“The weather in the last few days has been quite extreme, especially in Bogor. The high intensity of rain accompanied by strong winds has made several disaster-prone points to be watched out for,” said Ade.
Secretary of the Bogor Regency BPBD, Budi Pranowo, said that disasters that have occurred since the beginning of 2021 include 16 landslides, 10 strong winds and two droughts.
