Many students associated with the Indonesian National Student Movement (GMNI) came to the Indragiri Hilir Regent’s Office. Their arrival was related to the control of street vendors by the Civil Service Police Unit of Indragiri Hilir.
They demanded that the Regent should look control the street vendors and exercise discretion on the regulation on controlling street vendors (PKL).
“Please stop controlling the street vendors first, because the street vendors are only looking for money to buy foods,” they asked.
Responding to this problem, one of the organizations that overshadowed thousands of traders in Indragiri Hilir that chaired by Alek Saputra, went forward to convey arguments as well as advice to GMNI students.
“I am proud of the students who support the street vendors, but we have some rules,” said Alek.
He also asked the students to show data about the street vendors’ that felt persecuted by the Civil Service Police Unit of Indragiri Hilir.
