The Ministry of Health provided regulations that target recipients of COVID-19 vaccination were 18-59 years of age, had no comorbidities (comorbid), were not pregnant, and had never been infected with COVID-19.
But now, the Ministry of Health has issued a circular letter number HK.02.02 /11/368/2021.
A circular contains the implementation of COVID-19 vaccination for the elderly, comorbid and COVID-19 survivors and targets for postponement.
The spokesperson for the COVID-19 vaccination from the Ministry of Health, Siti Nadia Tarmizi on Monday, 15 February said, there are changes in the screening for receiving the COVID-19 vaccine, which yesterday was still delayed or canceled due to certain conditions, which also apply to health workers.
Here’s the explanation :
- The elderly group has received approval to be vaccinated against COVID-19. The stipulation is that the blood pressure should not be more than 180/110.
- Survivors or people who have been confirmed with COVID-19 can be given a vaccine injection after more than three months of being declared cured.
- Pregnant women still cannot receive vaccinations.
- The breastfeeding mothers can be given vaccinations. There are no criteria for how long the mother has been breastfeeding. but once she has given birth and then starts breastfeeding she is eligible to be vaccinated.
- There are special provisions for residents who have a history of severe allergies such as shortness of breath, swelling, redness all over the body, or other severe reactions due to vaccination. Their vaccinations must be given in the hospital.
- For people with chronic diseases such as COPD, asthma, heart disease, kidney disease, liver disease, if they are in an attack condition or are not under control, then vaccination is postponed and not given. However, if the person with this chronic disease is under control, or has received treatment, he may be vaccinated by having a certificate worthy of being vaccinated.
- For people with blood clotting disorders or immune deficiency and recipients of blood products or transfusions, their vaccinations are postponed and can be given after consultation with their treating doctor.
- For people with a history of epilepsy, if someone has epilepsy, vaccinations can be given of course in a controlled condition and not in a state of attack.
- For people with diabetes mellitus who take regular medication, vaccination can be given immediately.
- For people with HIV AIDS, they can receive vaccinations as long as they take regular medication.
- For people who have a history of other vaccinations besides the COVID-19 vaccine, then the vaccination must be postponed for one month after the previous vaccination.
- For the elderly or people over 60 years of age, there are 5 criteria that will be asked to determine whether the vaccine can be given or not. This question goes beyond comorbid diseases or other chronic diseases :
- Don’t have difficulty climbing 10 stairs.
- You often feel tired.
- Had at least five of the 11 diseases.
- Don’t have difficulty to run up to 200 meters.
- Don’t have any significant weight loss in the past year.
“Well, if there are of the five questions, the answer is three or more, yes, then the vaccine cannot be given. If there are only two, the vaccine can be given,” she concluded.
