The Police Chief (Kapolres) of Indragiri Hilir, AKBP Dian Setyawan, immediately went to extinguish forest fires (Karlahut) in Sungai Rabit Village, Kempas District, SK 26 Dusun Jasa Bina Utama, Indragiri Hilir Regency, Riau Province.
The extinguishing of fire has been going on for two days, starting on Saturday, February 27, 2021, until Sunday, February 28, 2021.
“Today we are still struggling to extinguish and cool down the land fires, the media colleagues can see, the fire has been extinguished, so we are doing cooling,” said the Police Chief.
The police chief also said that in addition to extinguishing and cooling, the insulation will be carried out so that the fire does not spread widely.
“We will do the blackout so that there are really no more hotspots, never to go home before they go out,” he said.
Furthermore, he also said that approximately 5 hectares of land were burned at the locations of SK 25 and SK 26.
Given the large location, the BPBD and the Army of Indonesia are trying to blackout the location of SK 25, while the Police of Indragiri Hilir task is in SK 26 with MPA and PT SRL.
“Today, there was 40 personnel from the Police of Indragiri Hilir who came to the Karlahut location, from the Fire Care Community (MPA) about 30 personnel, from SRL company about 6 people, BPBD about 10 personnel and assisted by the Army of Indonesia and Indonesian Millennial Youth (AMMI), “he said.
