The Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) of Indragiri Hilir Regency curbed illegal and unlicensed buildings at Yos Sudarso Tembilahan Market.
The illegal buildings in question are buildings owned by traders on the Indragiri River.
Chief of the Civil Service Police Unit of Indragiri Hilir Regency, Martha Haryadi, said that as many as 10 illegal buildings and 22 stalls with permanent construction were built in a place outside the planning of the Indragiri Hilir Regency Trade and Industry Service.
“Meanwhile, the building of a public toilet and prayer room belonging to a trader cannot be demolished due to protests by the owner. The owner argued that he had received permission from the Deputy Regent of Indragiri Hilir,” said Martha.
After a brief consolidation in the field with related parties, it was agreed that the demolition of the building should be suspended until a joint decision was made by the regional leadership.
