Two sons of Indragiri Hilir (Inhil), namely M Zacky Fahlevi and Aldi passed the first round of the U-16 Indonesian National Team selection.
Previously, one hundred potential young football players from 12 districts/cities in RIAU participated in the selection of the U-16 Indonesian National Team at Kaharuddin Nasution Rumbai in Pekanbaru for a week.
In this selection, as many as 16 potential young players from Riau were successfully netted by the Riau PSSI Provincial Association (Asprov), to be re-selected at the next stage at the national level.
This selection is the initial stage of selecting the prospective retainer of the Young Garuda squad to fill the slot for the U-16 Indonesian National Team which will be projected to participate in a number of Asian competitions.
“So there are 16 players who passed the final selection in the Riau Zone. Alhamdulillah, 2 of them are Indragiri Hilir’s sons, namely M. Zacky Fahlevi and Aldi, “said Sukri, the coach of Nusa Indah Permai Soccer School (NIPSS) of Parit 3 Tembilahan, Tuesday, March 16, 2021.
The names will be sent to the central PSSI to be projected to follow the next stages at the national level.
“Even though this is the initial stage for the selection of the National Team, I am very proud that 2 representatives of Indragiri Hilir were selected in the top 16 who will be prepared by PSSI Riau for the selection of the U16 National Team and will compete throughout Indonesia,” said Sukri.
On that occasion, he also expressed his gratitude to Askap PSSI Indragiri Hilir for recommending SSB Nusa Indah Permai Soccer School Tembilahan to participate in the National Team selection.
“I also express my gratitude to the parents of the students who are also very supportive of their children and to all the trainers appointed by Asprov to select Riau children. Of course, this is not an easy job because there are 110 participants from all RIAU who have participated in the selection,” added the trainer, as well as the owner of the SSB Nusa Indah Permai.
