It’s not complete to explore Sumatra Island without stopping in Pekanbaru.
The capital and largest city in Riau is indeed famous for its oil reserves and oil palm plantations.
Pekanbaru had many interesting and fun destinations to visit, from natural attractions to fascinating historical and cultural tours.
Rainbow Mountains or Rainbow Hills is famous as a mainstay destination for Peru. As the name suggests, this destination is in the form of mountains and hills that are colorful like a rainbow.
But you know, it turns out that in Pekanbaru you can find destinations like this. People usually call this destination Rainbow Hills Pekanbaru.
About 10 kilometers from the center of Pekanbaru City, there is a new tourist spot that is really hot and hot. The name is Rainbow Hills or Bukit Pelangi.
This hill is popular thanks to a travel blogger named Marischka Prudence who posted photos and articles on her personal blog.
Now many tourists have come and taken pictures at destinations that are said to be similar to the Rainbow Mountains in Peru.
The word “Rainbow” is taken from the unique color blend of the hill which from afar looks like a rainbow. The location of this hill is not far from Khayangan Lake. At any time, the contours and colors of the soil on this hill can change, you know. However, be careful when visiting during the rainy season because unstable soil conditions can slide.
This rainbow hill is in the form of small valleys of various colors, ranging from dark brown, orange, yellowish to pink and light gray. This combination makes for a very interesting sight especially when combined with the drying cracks of the ground and the blue sky during the day.
What is interesting is that the color and contour of the land here can change when it rains because the soil is so easily eroded by water and forms cracks.
Actually, this destination does not have an official name, but many people refer to it as Rainbow Hills Pekanbaru or simply Bukit Pelangi. There is no entrance ticket to take pictures here because it has not been managed as a tourist destination.
