Asah Hill
Asah Hill in Karangasem becomes a new tourism alternative in eastern Bali. The location that is once a tourist place of Bug Bug Village is now known as the leading destination of Karangasem. Formerly, Asah Hill was a long bean garden. Local people called this place a meeting place of gods and humans.
The beauty of Asah Hill is indeed amazing. It’s on a cliff over the sea. From Asah Hill, tourists can see the blue sea water, towering cliffs, and the Virgin Beach that has a stretch of white sand.
One year later, villagers of Bug Bug Village worked seriously on Asah Hill as a tourist destination that was worthy of tourists outside the village. Through the Rural Credit Institution Funds, they improved access roads, bought tents for rent, built toilets, and provided access to electricity.
This hill is often used for camping. In addition to camping, many visitors chase the sunrise to be photographed. If you just want to sunbathe and greet the sun that begins to appear, make sure you leave at dawn.
The distance between downtown Denpasar to Asah Hill can be reached for a 1 hour 45 minutes drive. To enter Asah Hill, per person is charged IDR 5 thousand.
Atuh Beach
Atuh Beach is located in Nusa Penida, Klungkung Regency. Nusa Penida Island can be reached from the ferry port by boat. Many beautiful places on the easternmost island of Bali. So, leave some time to enjoy the natural attractions in Nusa Penida.
Atuh Beach is unique compared to most beaches in Bali. It’s flanked by two spectacular tall cliffs: Labuan Ampuak on the right and Tanjung Juntil on the left.
The view from this cliff are amazing, with crystal blue water, crashing waves, tall rocks, and white sand below your feet.

To access the beach, you will need to hike down steep and long staircases. It’s physically tiring, especially climbing back up. To go to Atuh Beach, tourists also have to go downstairs for about 40 minutes from the cliff.
But once you step on the white sand beach at the bottom of the staircase, you will be rewarded with the most gorgeous view of the Ocean with a turtle-like cliff island protruding out of the water.
Candidasa Beach
Candi Dasa Beach is located in Candi Dasa Village, Manggis District, Karangasem Regency. This place can be reached with a distance of about 65 km from Denpasar City or about one to two hours away. It’s easy to reach this location.
The beach that faces south is unique. Because some parts are white-sanded beaches, while the other parts are black with coral beds. You’ll feel relaxed listening to the sound of the rolling waves. Well, Candi Dasa beach waves are not that big, because, in the seashore, there’s a building to prevent abrasion. But in this building, you can find some interesting photo spots.
Candi Dasa beach is not very crowded with tourists. So you can sit on the two Bale Bengong on the beach while enjoying the tranquility that you’ve been longing for. If you want more fun activities, you can also try snorkeling and scuba diving to see the underwater beauty, while enjoying the fresh seawater of Candi Dasa.
Wait until the afternoon to see the beautiful sunset view on Candidasa Beach. The sun looks more rounded than usual, sets between the hills and the waters of Candi Dasa. After the sun sets, the sky will refract reddish colors that make the atmosphere more beautiful.
