Green zone areas in Bali province ie Nusa Dua, Sanur, and Ubud are being prepared for potential reopening to foreign tourism.

As cited from Kompas, officials in Bali say they will continue using AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine in the ongoing vaccination program. Bali has received 200,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine.

And officials also highlighting that those who have received their first jab have only reported minor side effects. So far, side-effects for residents in Bali have included fever or headaches, and are easily treatable.

I Ketut Suarjaya, Bali Health Agency Chief, said on Friday, “We can be sure that there are no major side effects. The COVID-19 vaccination program will still continue using vaccines from AstraZeneca.”

As information, some countries are restricting the use of the AstraZeneca vaccine after reports of rare blood clots, though experts, including the World Health Organization (WHO), said the benefits of the shot outweigh its potential risks.

In Indonesia, North Sulawesi province suspended the use of the AstraZeneca vaccine after receiving reports of side effects ranging from fever, bone pain, to nausea.
