In March 2021, more than 134,000 people flew to Ngurah Rai International Airport, signaling a slow return of tourism for that province.
The airport officials, Herry A.Y Sikado, General Manager of Airport Management Firm PT Angkasa Pura said, Ngurah Rai Airport saw a 74 percent increase in incoming travelers in March compared to the previous month.
According to Herry, there are three most popular routes ie Jakarta, Surabaya, and Lombok, with a total of 2,845 aircraft movements recorded last month.
“This amounts to 134,558 passengers who flew out of Denpasar in March. Those numbers only reflect domestic passengers, because international flights are not yet open,” Herry said.
The airport officials will ensure for both passengers and aircraft movements, Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali will continue to uphold service standards especially in implementing health protocols according to existing procedures.
“Airport staff are among those receiving priority COVID-19 vaccines in Bali,” Herry said.
