The board of the Siak Regency Religious Harmony Forum (FKUB) period 2021-2026 was officially inaugurated by the Siak Regent, Drs. H. Alfedri, M. Si, at the Raja Indrapura Pahlawan Meeting Room (Second Floor) Siak Regent’s Office.
The Chairperson of the FKUB for the next five years, Moh. Winto, S. Pd, hopes that FKUB Siak has good trust and success.
The inauguration was attended by a number of elements from various religions in the Siak Regency, such as Forkompinda, Kakan Kesbangpol, Kakan Kemenag, Chairman of the MUI, FPK, and others.
This inauguration procession begins with the reading of a decree from the Siak Regent regarding the composition of the FKUB Siak Regency management for the period 2021-2026. Followed by remarks by the Regent and congratulations from Forkopinda who were present.
Alfedri conveyed his congratulations on the inauguration of FKUB management, appreciating the role of FKUB for its contribution in participating in maintaining conduciveness in Siak Regency, especially ahead of entering the holy month of Ramadan in 1442 Hijriah and Idul Fitri despite the Covid-19 pandemic situation this time, Alfedri said.
“To the last period FKUB management, I would like to thank all of their contributions so far. Hopefully, this good deed will receive a reward from Allah SWT, “said Alfedri.
Alfedri added, currently the Indonesian nation is often tested with issues related to intolerance that can divide the unity.
This can be seen from the frenzy of debate and hate speech on various social media. Therefore it is necessary to have a joint movement in order to create tolerance and harmony among religious communities, “he stressed.
Not only intolerance continued Alfedri, the issue of radicalism has also emerged. The seeds of radicalism have the potential to occur in all religious circles in line with the many findings of young people who are suspected of being exposed to this understanding (radicalism).
This exclusive transnational movement can threaten diversity, especially in the situation of the Covid-19 pandemic which has changed our movement not too broadly, said Alfedri.
“Alhamdulilah, in Siak, the residents still live in harmony and peace to this day. This is a valuable social capital for regional development. For this reason, this conduciveness must be maintained and nurtured. Do not let a spark of fire ignite conflict, both internal and inter-religious, “he explained.
Furthermore, Alfedri stated that what we need to be aware of is that fostering the life of religious people is not only the responsibility of the government. However, the religious community itself must first and foremost take on this responsibility.
“Therefore, the role of religious leaders is very important to maintain the integrity of religious communities. Religious leaders are required to spread the spirit of togetherness to maintain harmony, avoid hate speech and behavior that can cause injury to fellow brothers and sisters, “he said.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of FKUB M. Winto, said that before the issuance of the regulation on the existence of this FKUB from the government in Siak Regency, “This proves that the issue of harmony between religious communities has long been a concern of the government and various other elements,” he explained.
Going forward, M Winto, S.Pd. sure if FKUB Siak Regency will continue to participate in realizing a harmonious and peaceful Siak. So far, what FKUB has done has helped to maintain the conduciveness of the area in Siak. “Don’t let any lies between us.
