The Regent of Siak Alfedri received a visit from 2 young farmers representing Siak to do an internship for 24 months in Japan.
Also accompanying the Head of the Agricultural Service, Budiman Shafari, and the Head of the Livestock and Fisheries Office, Susilawati.
On that occasion, the Regent expressed his appreciation to Yasa Nurdin and Dian Nur Anisa, for successfully passing the selection and representing Siak internationally.
“Hopefully the experience gained while in Japan can be useful for building Siak in the future, especially in the agricultural sector,” said Regent Alfedri.
Alfedri told them both to keep the good name of Siak, Riau, and Indonesia.
“Study well and work diligently, because there is hope to make agriculture in the Siak district even better. Because later on, it is not only agriculture that must be reliable, but also marketing and can control prices,” he said.
The Siak leader hopes for both of them, even the Regent really wants them to change the mindset of the farmers to be more open and forward to change.
Two Siak youths, Yasa Rudin (24) from Sungai Selodang Village, Sungai Mandau District are graduates of the 2021 Unri Faculty of Agriculture. Currently, Yasa is chosen by residents as the Chairperson of the KTNA in his village.
And Dian Nur Anisa (21), a resident of Sam-Sam Village, Kandis District. Dian is a young farmer who is part of a youth farmer group and has a number of contents.
Both were chosen to represent Sumatra along with 28 other youths, to study and work in Japan for two years.
The messages conveyed by Alfedri were welcomed by Dian.
She said she would study more and do her best during 2 years in Japan. In fact, according to her, she will return home and pass on her knowledge to the Siak community.
“I have been in contact with agriculture since I was a child. Parents, friends, and family, lived and grew from farming. That also makes me want to continue to be in agriculture, but by following existing technological advances. I want in the future we use organic fertilizers, ” she explained.
It turns out that Yasa was also born into a farming family. In fact, he wants to invite farmer’s children not to be ashamed to become farmers and develop their family’s agricultural land.
“We must be able to continue to develop agriculture. Because we are gifted with fertile agricultural land. We have to be able to use it well,” he said.
