The Indragiri Hilir (Inhil) Resort Police carried out the insulation on the border of Riau Province and Jambi Province to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus through community homecoming activities, according to the ban issued by the Central Government.
“Check points are divided into several places in Riau, especially the Ndragiri Hilir Regency area, at the Riau-Jambi Border Post, Jalan Lintas Timur KM 295, Selensen Village, Kemuning District,” said Chief of Indragiri Hilir Police, AKBP Dian Setyawan through Public Relations Officer, Ipda Esra SH on April 25, 2021.
According to the Minister of Transportation Regulation Number 25 of 2020, motorists who are about to go home will be checked at the control post, then allowed to make a U-turn, if they do not carry a travel permit and a medical certificate.
“In general, there are more private vehicles, which are being checked are local residents who carry out activities at the Riau-Jambi border,” he said.
He said the blocking of the homecoming flow was part of the operation which was carried out earlier than in previous years.
“In addition to ‘check points’, we provide security posts at several points in Indragiri Hilir Regency,” said the Police Chief.
Even so, the people of Indragiri Hilir are still allowed to walk around the Indragiri Hilir Regency area.
Homecoming restrictions are only carried out specifically for those going home.
“In accordance with the instructions from the Korlantas Police Headquarters and the central government, that residents in Indragiri Hilir Regency can still carry out activities, such as from Indragiri Hilir Regency to Kemuning and or other areas that are still in the Indragiri Hilir area,” he said.
The activity was carried out by the Head of the Kemuning Police, Kompol Benhardi, the Head of the Indragiri Hilir Ressort Police, AKP Lassarus Sinaga and several joint personnel from the Indragiri Hilir Ressort Police and the Kemuning Sector Police.
“Officers stop private vehicles and public transportation from the direction of Jambi to Riau and vice versa, and then check the travel permits and health documents of domestic travelers,” he said.
