The Regent of Indragiri Hilir (Inhil) District, HM Wardan, asked to stop face-to-face activities at schools.
Teaching and learning activities at all levels of the school will start online again starting tomorrow.
This decision was taken following the spike in Covid-19 cases in Indragiri Hilir Regency recently.
“This decision is a joint agreement between the Indragiri Hilir Regency Regional Leadership Communication Forum,” said the Regent after chairing the Indragiri Hilir Regency Regional Leadership Communication Forum meeting which discussed strategic steps to create a safe, orderly, and conducive atmosphere amid the increase in the Covid-19 case on Monday, 3 May 2021 at Tembilahan.
At present, according to the Regent, steps to close schools and replace learning and teaching activities online need to be taken, considering that schools are one of the places where the potential for Covid-19 transmission to occur.
Not only the decision regarding the school being closed, the Regent together with the entire Forkopimda Indragiri Hilir Regency also agreed to impose sanctions for people who violate health protocols.
No kidding, the sanctions imposed can be in the form of imprisonment for people who are stubborn and found to have violated health protocols 3 times in a row.
Meanwhile, offenders who violate the health protocol for the first time will be subject to social sanctions in the form of cleaning the Covid-19 special burial area.
“Without the cooperation of all elements, this Covid-19 pandemic will be difficult to control. For that, I hope we can work together to enforce the discipline of health protocols for a safe and free Indragiri Hilir from Covid-19,” said the Regent.
