Ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1442 Hijriah in the next few days, the Siak Regency Government will hold a Coordination Meeting (Rakor) virtually with elements of Forkompinda and vertical agencies, across Regional Organizations within the Siak Regency Government, administrators of the Indonesian Ulama Council, Forum for Religious Harmony, Early Awareness Forum, along with all Camat and Upika.
The meeting, which was chaired by Regent Siak Alfedri from the Command Center Siak Live Room, was a follow-up to a number of previously held meetings with the Central Government, Provincial Governments and Regency Governments, which discussed a number of measures to control the spread of the Covid-19 outbreak, including those related to restrictions. Eid homecoming, as well as the implementation of religious worship.
Alfedri said, the focus of the central and regional governments at this time in the context of controlling the spread of Covid 19 was the enforcement of discipline in the community.
Another issue that must be followed up, he said, is the Circular of the Minister of Home Affairs Number 10 of 2021 concerning Enforcement of Restrictions on Micro Community Activities, which has been in effect on May 4-17, 2021 and applies nationally.
Alfedri also conveyed the latest conditions for the spread of Covid-19 in Siak Regency until May 5, 2021, where the positive confirmed number reached 3,581 people, with the number of recovered patients reaching 2,921 and those who died reaching 92 people.
Currently, there are 568 people in Siak Regency who have positive confirmation, which are spread across all districts.
“Currently, the development of the latest cases in Siak district tends to increase with an average number of over 20 per day. Don’t let us get hurt like what happened in India, ”he said while leading the Coordination Meeting.
In the past, he continued, India was one of the countries that had successfully implemented micro lockdown. This is what Indonesia is copying and adopting.
But apparently this success made the people complacent with the improving condition and forgot to apply health protocols, finally creating a large crowd in the Ganges river. Finally, Alfedri said, in India positive cases of Covid-19 were increasing and difficult to control again, reaching hundreds of thousands of cases per day.
“So, that’s why we are reminded and take a stance so that it does not happen like in India,” he explained.
For this reason, he said, a number of steps had been carried out by the Siak Regency Government together with Forkompinda and vertical agencies, including implementing the Enforcement of Micro-Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) starting from April 20 – May 19, 2021.
“The basis for the implementation is the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs Number 9 and Number 10 as well as the number of cases and the number of deaths that have occurred,” he said.
“Another reference for restricting community activities is the Circular of the Minister of Religion No. 03 of 2021 concerning guidelines for Ramadan and Idul Fitri 1442 Hijriyah worship. The letter explains that areas with green and yellow zones are allowed to carry out Ramadan worship at mosques while still implementing health protocols and the maximum capacity of houses of worship only reaches 50%, while areas with orange and red zones are directed to pray at home, “he explained.
In connection with the designation of Siak Regency by the national task force as an area with a red zone status, Siak Regency said Alfedri referring to the Circular of the Minister of Religion which has not been able to carry out Eid prayers either in the field or at the mosque.
Regent Alfedri said this has been the result of a joint meeting with the Chairman of the Siak DPRD, the Siak Police Chief, K Guru Siak, the Chairman of the Siak District Court, the Chairperson of the MUI and the Head of the Office of the Ministry of Religion of Siak Regency. He also hopes that the information will be conveyed by each sub-district head and head leader properly and intact, so that the public can understand the current conditions.
“Based on the recent developments in the conditions of the spread of Covid 19, with great concern we convey that the Regency Government this year has not been able to carry out Eid prayers either in the field or in mosques. Likewise, it should be at the level of District, Village and Village Government, including the implementation of the parade. and takbiran. In the near future we will immediately disseminate the appeal, “explained the Regent.
The Head of the Ministry of Religion Office of Siak Regency H Muharram on the occasion explained that the policy to restrict mass worship activities does not only apply to Muslims who are undergoing Ramadan worship, but also applies to non-Muslims at the same time.
“The commemoration of the death of Isa Al Masih which is commemorated by Christians and Vesak Day for Buddhists is also commemorated at the same time and adjacent to the Idil Fitri, therefore this policy of limiting the implementation of mass worship also applies to all”, he explained.
In the near future, he said, the Ministry of Religion will also issue a circular letter for the non-Muslim community, which will also be followed at the Siak Regency level with the same appeal separately as well. (**)
