The Regent of Indragiri Hilir (Inhil) Regency, HM Wardan, issued a permit to hold Eid al-Fitr 1442 Hijriyah prayers in mosques and fields.
The permit for the implementation of Eid prayers in mosques and fields is based on the Regent’s Circular on Guidelines for Takbir and the Implementation of Eid Prayer 1 Shawwal Year 1442 H/2021 AD during the Covid-19 Pandemic Period in Indragiri Hilir Regency.
The decision was taken considering the condition of Indragiri Hilir Regency which is increasingly recovering from the spread of Covid-19, seen from the active cases of Covid-19 which continue to decline before Eid so that currently Inhil Regency is in the yellow zone for the spread of Covid-19.
“Alhamdulillah (Praise the Lord), we should be grateful for the positive movement of the Covid-19 number in Indragiri Hilir so that we as Muslims are allowed to perform Eid prayers at the Daj Field Mosque as in previous years,” said the Regent in a written statement, Tuesday, May 11, 2021 night. .
Even though the Eid prayer at the mosque or Musalla and the field has obtained permits, the public is still encouraged to adhere to strict health protocols in order to anticipate a re-escalation in the number of Covid-19.
“Still, health protocols must be applied, even strictly to avoid a spike in Covid-19 afterward,” said the Regent.
A number of provisions for the implementation of Eid prayers have also been regulated in the Regent’s circular, such as the congregation who attends must not exceed 50 percent of the capacity of the place in order to make it possible to maintain distance between rows and between congregations.
Furthermore, the Eid al-Fitr prayer committee prepared a temperature-checking device (thermogun) to ensure the healthy condition of the congregation present.
Meanwhile, for the elderly or people who are not in good health, just recovering from illness or from traveling not to attend Eid prayers at the mosque or in the field.
Then, all pilgrims are asked to wear masks during the Eid prayer and while listening to the sermon in the mosque or in the field. After the Eid prayer, worshipers are advised to return home in an orderly manner and avoid shaking hands by physically touching.
“I hope that all the people of Indragiri Hilir, especially Muslims, can comply with this appeal so that we can always avoid Covid-19,” said the Regent.
Based on data released by the Inhil Regency Covid-19 Task Force as of May 11, 2021, there were 1214 positive Covid-19 patients accumulated, 84 active or isolated cases, 1070 recovered, 7814 suspects, 6287 specimens and 60 died.
