The COVID-19 vaccination program has been gradually implemented in several districts. In addition to employees and honorariums, the target of this vaccine has expanded, such as for the elderly, princes, and village officials to receive vaccines.
There are several conditions that must be met by every community that will receive the vaccine.
Of course, these requirements concern health conditions within a certain period of time.
The Health Center of Mempura, dr. Liza Novita said before receiving the COVID-19 vaccine, vaccine recipients had to be screened by officers.
This screening process is a preventive measure, to prevent anything from happening to the recipient of the vaccine.
“Yes, prospective vaccine recipients must be screened first. So prospective recipients of this vaccine must explain their health condition before being injected with the vaccine, “explained Liza.
During this process, he continued, prospective vaccine recipients will receive several questions related to their health conditions, namely;
- Do you have a history of severe allergies
- Are you pregnant
- Do you have autoimmune diseases such as asthma, lupus
- Are you currently receiving treatment for blood clotting disorders, blood disorders, immune deficiencies, and receiving blood products/transfusions
- Are you currently receiving immunosuppressant medications, such as corticosteroids and chemotherapy
- Do you have severe heart disease in a congested state
- Additional questions for seniors 60 years and over.
a. Are you having trouble climbing 10 stairs
b. Do you often feel tired
c. Have at least 5 out of 11 diseases (hypertension, diabetes, cancer, chronic lung disease, heart attack, congestive heart failure, chest pain, asthma, joint pain, stroke, and kidney disease)
d. Do you have difficulty walking about 100 m to 200 meters
e. Have you lost any significant weight in the past year
Liza explained that it is enough for prospective vaccine recipients to answer yes or no. If the answer is yes then vaccination is postponed and referred. In addition, prospective vaccine recipients will also have their bodies checked at that time by measuring temperature and blood pressure.
“For people with asthma and allergies, if the condition is normal (not relapsing / not having tightness) then it can be directly vaccinated, as long as the blood pressure is normal,” he explained.
In addition to the elderly and serious illness, people who have a history of allergies are also a concern when receiving vaccines. Because there is a possibility that a reaction will occur after they receive the vaccine.
Therefore, Liza appealed to the public who will receive the vaccine, to be honest when answering questions during the screening process.
Furthermore, Liza invited the public not to be afraid to be vaccinated and not to easily believe in negative issues after being vaccinated.
Assistant I Regional Secretariat I of Siak Budhi Yuwono, added that there would be sanctions for employees and honorariums who deliberately did not want to be vaccinated, in accordance with Law No. 4 of 1984 on Communicable Disease Outbreaks.
“This is for our common health, that’s why everything is vaccinated. If you refuse, you will be subject to sanctions in accordance with the Law on Contagious Disease Outbreaks,” said Budhi.
He said the person concerned has a history of disease so that he cannot be vaccinated.
Budhi said that currently there are 13,000 vaccine stocks in Siak Regency and the target is for the entire Siak Regency community. He hopes that all Siak people are vaccinated in order to anticipate the spread of the Covid-19.
