President Jokowi held a meeting with the Governor of Riau and Regents and Mayors throughout Riau Province, the meeting took place at the Pekanbaru Regional Building Serindit Hall.
The limited meeting was a series of working visits by the President of the Republic of Indonesia Jokowi to Riau Pekanbaru Province. Regent Siak Alfedri who was also present at the meeting said that President Jokowi conveyed a number of directions to Governors, Regents, and Mayors throughout Riau at the meeting.
First, he said, regarding the handling of the Covid-19 case as well as economic growth in the regions.
“The President asked all regional heads who have a high rate of positive cases spread in their regions. Immediately press the existing cases. The President ordered the Minister of Health to send a large number of vaccines to Riau province and mainly used for vaccination in Pekanbaru and Dumai, ” Alfedri said repeating the President’s direction when met after the meeting.
The President’s visit was also due to seeing that Riau Province and Riau Islands (Kepri) were included in the three provinces which had a hospital bed occupancy rate (BOR) above 50 percent. Mass vaccination can immediately achieve communal development.
“The three provinces are North Sumatra (North Sumatra) where the bed occupancy rate (BOR) reaches 56 percent, Riau Islands (Kepri) reaches 53% and Riau reaches 52%. Including our hospital where the bed is filled, can be used. says 99 percent full, “he said.
Then the indicators for controlling the Covid-19 pandemic, the spread of new variants of Covid-19, and finally Indonesia’s economic growth.
“The President repeatedly reminded us. once again be careful with all regional heads so that they continue to be aware of the increase in Covid-19 cases. I also ask all regional heads to pay attention to economic growth, both at the provincial and district/city levels, “he pleaded.
Alfedri also said, after Eid al-Fitr yesterday there was a decrease in Covid-19 cases in Siak. Currently, the health office is carrying out a mass vaccination which is carried out in every district.
“Alhamdulillah, the Covid-19 case after Eid has decreased, so that from the beginning, the orange zone turned yellow, and we hope that it can turn green. We continue to encourage the public to increase the Prokes, if there is a positive case, we implement the 3 T practice (Tracing Testing, Treatment). We are currently doing mass vaccination in every district, “he said.
President Jokowi’s Working Visit to Riau was accompanied by Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, TNI Commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, Head of Presidential Secretariat Heru Budi Hartono, Presidential Military Secretary Marsda TNI M. Tonny Harjono, Commander Paspampres Major General TNI Agus Subiyanto, and Deputy for Protocol, Press, and Media of the Presidential Secretariat Bey Machmudin.
Conducted observations at several points including, reviewing the construction of the Pekanbaru-Kampar toll road along 40 km, monitoring the implementation of mutual cooperation vaccination which was centered at the Sudirman Street Youth Center, Pekanbaru.
