During the mudik ban period from May 6 to 17, 2021, Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport recorded 12,896 passengers that passing through the facility of airport.
Airport officials said that the largest number of incoming travelers at least 1,012 people arrived on May 12, 2021.
While the largest number of departing passengers at least 1,004 people.
Authorities said most passengers fulfilled requirements to be classified exceptions to the ban.
Herry A.Y. Sikado, general manager of airport management firm PT Angkasa Pura I, said, “We can be certain that during the period all passengers had required documents that were checked by aviation security, the COVID-19 task force, the port health authority, and the airlines.”
But 30 passengers did not fulfill the requirements and were thus stopped from traveling during the ban period, explaining that only those with urgent matters are allowed to continue their journey, including expecting mothers, visiting sick or deceased family members, and work travel.
