One of the most beautiful beaches in Papua is in Raja Ampat. It’s called the Waiwo Beach. This beach is located in Waigeo Pier, Waigeo Island, Raja Ampat Regency, West Irian Jaya. The Beach has clean white sand with clear seawater. It is so clear that you can see small fish swimming.
Waiwo Island is part of Raja Ampat Archipelago in West Papua Province. It becomes a worthy vacation destination, especially for its beach.
The locals name it Waiwo Beach that features white sand and unspoiled sea scenery. The location is near to Waigeo Port, so it is the first thing people see when reaching Waigeo Island. The beach is famous for its shallow and crystal clear water.
Plus, it is surrounded by green hills and several islets. Thus, swimming and snorkeling become primary things to do there.
The waves are also not too big so it is safe for swimming. At Waiwo Beach there are also two piers. There is a wooden pier where you can sit and do fishing and become a place for local children to jump into the sea. There is also a floating dock where tourists often feed fish from this pier.
According to the locals, those who wash their face with the water may retain their youth longer! Some people even drink the water, as they believe it gives numerous health benefits and prosperity. The others also take some pictures of such legendary spot using their camera.
Another fun thing to do is to get closer to the locals’ activity. It is because many local kids often come to Waiwo Beach, running around and playing in the sand.
Their activeness is indeed encouraging! Next, it is time to visit the pier, which is long and stunning. From the location, tourists are able to witness the stunning sunset. As an alternative, fishing is a good idea, as the pier is surrounded by some fishes.
At the end of the adventure, tourists should go back to the nearby village and enjoy dinner. There is even a free breakfast in the next day!
