The only country in Europe, Sweden, will be the last Scandinavian country to begin quarantine mitigation in 2021.
As cited from the Financial Times, the country, which did not impose strict restrictions in the spring of 2020, has eased its quarantine since June 1.
They will affect the allowed number of people at sporting events, outdoor concerts, cinemas and markets. In addition, the opening hours of the bars will be extended.
A negative COVID-19 test is no longer required to enter Sweden from another Scandinavian country. However, it is noted that a wider relaxation of restrictions in Sweden should not be expected before July.
Earlier it was reported that Sweden regained its pre-pandemic level of GDP and exceeded analysts’ expectations.
The kingdom’s economic success is driven by the growth of exports and domestic consumption.
During the pandemic, Sweden became the only country in Europe and one of the few in the world where the authorities abandoned the lockdown, relying on the formation of herd immunity.
The restrictions were introduced carefully so as not to bring down the economy.
