The World Health Organization (WHO) has announced the most worrying varieties of COVID-19.
This was stated by the head of the unit for emerging diseases at WHO Maria Van Kerkhove at a press conference.
There are a total of four options that are of particular concern, she said. Maria Van Kerkhove also noted that maintaining social distance, timely diagnosis, therapy and vaccines help prevent the spread of infections.
In her report, she paid special attention to the COVID-19 variety found in Vietnam, namely the B-1617.2 strain.
According to her, this mutation of the coronavirus spreads more easily among people. At the same time, the head of the WHO unit emphasized that the organization was ready for the fact that the coronavirus could evolve.
She urged countries to remain vigilant and thanked everyone for their epidemiological surveillance.
Earlier, the WHO allowed the spread of the Indian strain of coronavirus in dozens of countries.
The spread of the B.1.617 strain has been officially confirmed in at least 53 countries.
