Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that he would sign a full-scale interstate agreement with Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev in Shusha, reported with reference to the Turkish TRT TV channel.
“After the NATO summit, we will go to Azerbaijan, first to the city of Fizuli. After that, with my brother Ilham Aliyev, we will go to Shusha, where we will sign an agreement between our countries. This will be a full-scale agreement between Turkey and Azerbaijan” Erdogan said in his address to citizens.
Erdogan’s visit is scheduled from June 14-16.
Earlier, the Turkish leader announced that he would go to the city of Shusha in Nagorno-Karabakh. His trip was scheduled for June 15, after attending a NATO summit in Brussels.
On June 11, Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev accused Armenia of seeking revenge after the lost conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh.
At a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, he expressed confidence that political forces in Armenia are talking about the possibility of re-occupying a part of Azerbaijan territory.
