Commission V of the Riau Regional House of Representatives on Tuesday, June 15, 2021, made a working visit (Kunker) to the Culture Service (Disbud) of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government.
The visit is useful for digging up information and insights related to cultural stages, especially the prototype of traditional houses in the Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) area.
Especially with the new rules listed in Presidential Regulation 19 of 2021, the existence of TMII as a place for cultural introduction is now increasingly being eroded and even forgotten.
The group was led directly by the Chairman of Commission V of the Regional House of Representatives of Riau Province, Eddy Mohd, with the deputy chairman of Commission V Soniwati and other members of Commission V namely Mira Roza, Arnita Sari, Kasir, Marwan Yohanes, Sunaryo, Muhammad Aulia, and Zulkifli Indra.
Located in the DKI Jakarta Education Office Building, the group was received by the Head of Development of the DKI Jakarta Culture Office, Arif Rahman, with staff.
“We want to know what kind of strategy is being carried out by the DKI Province in this case through the Department of Culture to continue to maintain and preserve its original culture such as Betawi culture?” said the head of commission V, Eddy Yatim.
This discussion and sharing lasted for approximately one hour, considering the COVID-19 situation, so consultation restrictions were imposed.
The meeting itself ended with the handing over of souvenir plaques from Commission V of DPRD Riau Province to the DKI Jakarta Culture Service.
