Taka Bonerate National Park is one of the best tourist destinations in the South Sulawesi area. For those of you who like diving, this marine park is the right tourist spot to visit. There are many types of fish and turtles that live in this area.

The total area is 220,000 hectares with a distribution of coral reefs reaching 500 kmĀ².
Since 2005, the Taka Bonerate National Park has been proposed to become a World Heritage Site. In the series of Selayar Islands Anniversary, a festival called Sail Taka Bonerate is held every year. Previously this festival was called the Taka Bonerate Island Expedition (TIE).
There are as many as fifteen islands in the Taka Bonerate National Park. The topography of the area is very unique and interesting. The area consists of a vast, submerged cluster of coral reef islands and reef flats. All of these form islands in considerable numbers.

Transportation options to Taka Bonerate NationalPark can be by land or air. If you choose to use the air route, from Sultan Hasanuddin Airport to H. Aeropala Selayar Airport.
