Head of the Health Office (Kadiskes) of Indragiri Hilir (Inhil) Regency, dr. H. Afrizal D, MM emphasized that a man with the initials SS (56) who was claimed to be sick after being vaccinated against Covid-19 was only an issue.
In fact, the man who is the head of the Neighborhood Association (RT) in the Tembilahan District area does have a history of hypertension.
According to Dr. Afrizal, AEFI or post-immunization Adverse Events, generally occur shortly after the injection or at least 3 hours afterward.
In the case of SS (56), it is known that symptoms of an illness appear 3 days after the injection of the Covid-19 vaccine.
“So, based on this, we as the medical team concluded that the illness suffered by the SS patient is not an effect of the Covid-19 vaccination. He was vaccinated on May 20,” said Dr. Afrizal in a written statement, Wednesday, June 16, 2021 afternoon.
SS, who is currently being treated at the Puri Husada Hospital Tembilahan, was diagnosed with a stroke due to hypertension or Hemiparese Dextra EC stroke and hypertension emergency.
SS patient has been treated for 9 days at the Puri Husada Tembilahan Hospital, starting on May 23.
“Patients experience weakness of the right hand and leg, frequent headaches as signs of stroke symptoms,” said Dr. Afrizal.
Responding to the circulating issues, the Spokesperson for the Covid-19 Handling Task Force for Indragiri Hilir Regency, Trio Beni Putra hopes that the public will be wise in receiving information, especially regarding the Covid-19 vaccination.
“It is hoped that the public will not speculate, as in the case of SS patients before the results of a diagnosis or conclusion by competent and qualified parties are available. If there is no basis, it will be slander,” said Trio.
