According to the New York Post in New York, several hundred residents were injected with an expired coronavirus vaccine developed by Pfizer and BioNTech.
David Savitsky, the operator of the Times Square vaccination facility, sent emails to 899 patients announcing the incident.
According to him, after vaccination, it was found that the drug was stored in the freezer longer than the time allowed before its introduction.
The specialist assured that the incident shouldn’t lead to negative consequences for human health.
Savitsky also recommended that those who received the expired drug be vaccinated again.
Earlier it became known about the possible defect of about 70 million doses of the Janssen coronavirus vaccine produced by the American company Johnson & Johnson, the quality of which is checked by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
This vaccine is manufactured at the Emergent BioSolutions plant in Baltimore, Maryland.
