Riau Governor Syamsuar inaugurated Drs. H. Alfedri, M.Si, and H. Husni Merza, BBA, MM, as Regent and Deputy Regent of Siak, the results of the Simultaneous Pilkada held in 2020.
The inauguration procession which was held in conjunction with the inauguration of the Regent and Deputy Regent of Rokan Hulu took place at Balai Pelangi, Regional Building Complex of Riau Province, Pekanbaru, at around 09.15 am local time, on Monday morning, June 21, 2021, with strict Health Protocol (Prokes) standards and with a limited number of invitees.
The inauguration was also attended by the Chair and Deputy Chair of the Riau DPRD, members of the Riau Province Forkopimda and members of the Siak Regency Forkopimda, the Siak Regency Secretary Arfan Usman, the former Siak Regent Arwin AS, the Chair of the LAMR Siak Wan Said, the Directors of BUMD, as well as a number of Siak Regency community leaders.
Governor Syamsuar after inaugurating Alfedri – Husni, in his directive asked both the newly inaugurated Regent and Deputy Regent of Siak to be able to work hard to advance Siak Regency, especially related to efforts to restore the community’s economy during the Covid-19 pandemic and the prevention and control of forest and land fires.
“Currently we are faced with a non-natural disaster, the Covid-19 pandemic. This pandemic has an impact on the economic sector. I hope the Regent and Deputy Regent of Siak can maximize the economic potential of the Natural Resources and Tourism sector,” said Syamsuar
The Regent and Deputy Regent of Siak were also asked to embrace the entire community of Siak Regency, and coordinate well with the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum and other stakeholders for the progress of Siak Regency.
“Let’s move together to build Siak Regency and Riau Province more advanced, by realizing political promises during yesterday’s campaign, especially for the welfare of the people of Siak Regency,” asked Governor Syamsuar.
In addition, the former Siak Regent for two periods also said that currently, Riau Province has entered the dry season or the dry season which is prone to forest and land fires that must be watched out for.
“Currently the dry season, we ask that we can prevent and control the occurrence of forest and land fires in the area so that it is hoped that the haze disaster will not occur in our beloved Riau Province,” he explained.
On that occasion, Dra. Hj. Rasidah Alfedri and Ananda Laila Putri, SE, were also inaugurated as Chair and Deputy Chairperson of the Siak Regency PKK TP by the Riau Province PKK TP Chair Hj. Misnarni Syamsuar.
After the inauguration, the Regent Alfedri and Deputy Regent Husni Merza moved to the tomb complex of Sultan Abdul Jalil Alamuddinsyah (Marhum Bukit), and Sultan Muhammad Ali Abdul Jalil Mu’azamsyah (Marhum Pekan), to perform pilgrimages and prayers. (**)
