The exact number hasn’t yet been established, doctors are expressing concern about the lack of official statistics and recommendations for treatment. The numbers in Chandigarh alone range from 42 to 252 cases.
Doctors report that children in general tolerate coronavirus more easily, but after it, minors may develop multisystem inflammatory syndrome.
It’s characterized by fever, rash, vomiting and diarrhea and is often confused with other childhood illnesses. Even those without symptoms should be monitored, experts say.
Pulmonology professor Minu Singh from Chandigarh noted that the syndrome is more likely to affect overweight children.
He also linked its occurrence to a lack of physical activity and walking in the fresh air due to restrictions due to the pandemic.
Earlier it became known that the number of people infected with coronavirus in India approached 30 million.
