Siak Regency is preparing to hold simultaneous penghulu elections in 2021 in 122 villages/villages.
In order to finalize the preparations for the Simultaneous Penghulu election, Regent Alfedri, and Forkopimda held a Preparatory Meeting and Discussion on Monitoring Mechanisms for the Implementation of the Simultaneous Village Election, in the Bandar Room, 2nd Floor, Siak Regent’s Office.
According to Alfedri, the basis for implementing the Simultaneous Penghulu Election is based on Law Number 6 of 2014 concerning Villages. Government Regulation No. 47 concerning Amendments to Government Regulation No. 43 concerning Implementation of Law No. 6 of 2014, as well as Minister of Home Affairs Regulation No. 112 concerning Village Head Elections.

Alfedri stressed that the implementation of the health protocol could really be implemented in the village election which will be held in October 2021.
“In accordance with the Minister of Home Affairs Circular, the implementation of the health protocol must be strictly applied to the simultaneous Village Head Elections which God willing, we will hold on October 20, 2021,” he explained
Alfedri also gave directions to the Village Head Election Committee at the sub-district level, to immediately hold a meeting to strengthen coordination with Forkopimcam, carry out socialization of election stages, enforce health protocols at each stage and anticipate security disturbances, as well as mapping and preventing possible conflicts.
“I also hope that the Camat together with elements of the District Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimcam) will immediately carry out a security simulation with health protocols, and immediately discuss security planning at crowd-prone points during elections, not only at the polling station (TPS) but all possible locations It’s a place where people gather,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) of Siak Regency, Azmi, emphasized that his party fully supports the implementation of the simultaneous village elections at the Siak Regency level which will be held on October 20, 2021.
“We strongly support the implementation of the simultaneous Pilkampung we will hold on October 20, 2021, of course, in the midst of this pandemic, the implementation of health protocols is our main focus so that this year’s Pilkampung does not become a new cluster of COVID-19,” concluded Azmi.
