The Governor of Riau, Syamsuar inaugurated the new office of the Riau Province National Amil Zakat Agency (Baznas), which is located at Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, at the Sudirman Raya Office Complex.
In addition to Riau Governor Syamsuar, M.Si also attended the Head of the Regional Office of the Riau Ministry of Religion Mahyudin, Deputy Chairman of the Riau DPRD Syafaruddin Poti, and several Riau Forkopimda.

While the Head of Baznas Riau Province, Dr. H. Saidul Amin when asked how much potential Zakat exists in Riau, explained that currently, it has not reached 10% of the existing potential.
“According to a dissertation written by a student at UIN Suska Riau, the potential for zakat in Riau is actually Rp. 1.8 trillion, according to Bank Indonesia is around Rp. 1 trillion, only 10 % of the existing potential. God willing (Insha Allah), what was conveyed by Governor Syamsuar we can pursue, “said Dr. H. Saidul Amin.
Besides the inauguration of the Riau Province Baznas Office, there was also a symbolic distribution of zakat distribution for the domestic scholarship program consisting of collaboration with universities in the one family one bachelor program, the shelter program, overseas scholarships, the Riau village community empowerment program, the Zakat Island program in two islands ie at Mendul and Rupat Island.
