Plage de Kaa Nuë Méra (Kanumera Beach)is a beautiful beach that curves gently around the Isle of Pine’s attractive Kanumera Bay.

Its stunning scenery ranges from the clear water of the Pacific Ocean to sparkling white sands and lush forests.

Plage de Kaa NuëMéra is a place to relax in the lap of nature and discover a rainbow of colorful sea life.

Swim in water as clear as glass, spot multi-colored marine life, and relax on white-sand at a beautiful bay on the Isle of Pines’ southwest coast.

The beach is popular with day-trippers and cruise passengers, yet rarely feels overcrowded. Enjoy a stroll around the crescent-shaped bay and feel the soft sand run between your toes.

Gaze out across the water and admire the forest-clad headlands. Occasionally, you may see island residents paddling around the bay on fishing pirogues, which are traditional canoes.

Be sure to take a rejuvenating swim in the beach’s cool, safe and shallow water. Look down to see brightly colored fish and coral reefs. Bring snorkeling equipment and explore further and deeper. Lucky visitors might spot a sea turtle.

If you are hungry and haven’t brought a picnic with you, visit one of the island’s two small resorts, which have restaurants serving light snacks and freshly caught seafood. The nearest resort is within 1 mile (1.6 kilometers) of the beach.

With a consistently mild climate, Plage de Kaa NuëMéra is a year-round destination. Rain showers are common from December to April while temperatures are cooler during the winter months.

How to Get There
Plage de Kaa Nuë Méra sits on the southwest corner of the Isle of Pines, the southernmost island of the New Caledonia archipelago. It is just a 10-minute walk from the island’s main ferry and cruise port, located at Plage de Kuto (Kuto Beach). Get here by catching a ferry from Nouméa, on New Caledonia’s main island.
