The police admitted that they had difficulties in arresting Raffi Idzamalah (19), the perpetrator of the rape of a woman in Bintaro, South Tangerang. During his flight, the perpetrator often moved from place to place.
“He moved around several areas of Jakarta,” said South Tangerang Police Chief AKBP Iman Setiawan in his statement to detikcom, Monday (10 August 2020).
However, wherever Raffi was in Jakarta, Iman did not know further. According to him, Raffi has not been open to the police.
Raffi was arrested by police around Jl Swadaya, Pondok Aren on Saturday (8 August) night. Raffi was then taken and examined at the South Tangerang Police.
The rape case against AF was sticking out after the victim opened her voice on social media. In an Instagram account, the victim recounts the bitter incident he experienced.
The incident occurred in mid-August 2019 at AF’s residence in the Bintaro area, South Tangerang. At that time, when AF was just waking up from his sleep, he suddenly saw a tall shadow.
The victim followed the shadow to a corner of the room until he was finally hit with an object suspected of being iron on the head. The victim was injured, then threatened with a knife by the perpetrator.
The victim was then raped by the perpetrator. After committing the rape, the perpetrator ran away and brought the victim’s cellphone.
On the same day, the perpetrator sent a message through the victim’s Instagram account and admitted to apologizing. The victim himself had reported the case to the Tangsel Police.
