The South Kalimantan Regional Police (Kalsel) revealed the criminal act of fraud under the guise of selection brokers to enter the Police Academy (Akpol).
The perpetrator deceived the victim up to IDR 1.35 billion.
“We have arrested two suspects in Jakarta who deceived the victim by promising to pass the selection of the Police Academy Cadets,” said the Director of General Criminal Investigation of the South Kalimantan Regional Police, Kombes Sugeng Riyadi in Banjarmasin, as reported by Antara.
This case began when the victim reported to the South Kalimantan Regional Police on July 20, 2020.
Sugeng revealed that the act of deception took advantage of the admission selection for the Police Academy Cadets.
The incident began when the victim, who was a police officer, namely Aiptu Putu Sudhiwirawan, who served at the Banjarbaru Police, met the suspect IR.
IR offered if the victim’s child could pass to the police.
“Initially the victim’s child registered for the 2019 Police Academy and failed in the academic test.”
“However, the perpetrator was promised to pass with a payment of IDR 1 billion because the perpetrator had an acquaintance at the National Police Headquarters, namely the IL suspect,” said Sugeng.
The IR suspect was secured in Blok M, South Jakarta.
Meanwhile, IL was secured in the Tebet Timur Dalam Raya area, South Jakarta.
