Malaysian whiskey has won silver at the prestigious San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWSC).
It is the first time a locally produced liquor has been recognized.
Anthony Dias Blue, who founded The San Francisco World Spirits Competition, was founded in 2000.
Over the years, the competition has earned a good reputation for its rigorous judging process and an all-star panel of judges.
According to SFWSC and Winepak, Timah competed in the Other Whisk (e) ys category and won silver.
The Other Whisk (e) y category includes whiskeys that are not from a traditional whiskey producing area.
Tin represents the British heritage from Malaya which appeared in 1863.
In the bottle was Captain Speedy who, in Winepak’s words, was “a commander who colored the history of English-Malay with the guardian of peace, culture, and adventure”.
Tin mix that ripens for eight years produces a good balance between malt and molasses, making it tropical peat.
On the nose, Tin gives off a subtle green taste with a hint of fruity aroma.
After you consume it, it will smell like a flower, then turn into a warm and pleasant sensation.
Then it is intensified to be spicy and ends with a lingering sweet oak taste.
According to a post by Winepak, the Timah mix is now on sale and is expected to be available again in late August.
