Siak Regent Alfedri as Chairman of the 09 Branch Quartir of the Siak Scout Movement led the 59th Scout Day ceremony at the Siak Regency level. The activity took place at the Siak Branch Quarterly Office, while still implementing the Covid-19 health protocol in the new normal era now.
The 2020 Scout Day commemoration was held simply by implementing health protocols. Each apple participant is required to check body temperature, wash hands with soap and wear a mask.
After leading the ceremony, Alfedri presented an award in the form of a Pancawarsa badge to 6 (six) administrators of the Siak Branch Quartir. Among them are Pancawarsa I as many as 4 people, Pancawarsa II 1 person and Pancawarsa VI 1 person.
In his remarks Alfedri said that even though the Scout Movement is an educational organization that focuses on the education of children and adolescents, not social organizations, the Scout Movement is still active in carrying out social service activities, community service and community development.
He said, the number of members of the Scout Movement is currently around 25 million people and is the largest among scouting organizations in the world.
“This large number is a very useful potential if its guidance can be maximized so that the scouting movement can grow and become an important part in realizing the unitary state of the Republic of Indonesia which is just and prosperous based on the 1945 Constitution,” he said.
The ceremony raised the theme “The Role of the Scout Movement in Assisting Covid-19 Disaster Management and Defending the Nation”. This theme is the main theme of all activities and activities of the 2020 Scout Movement.
On that occasion Alfedri also presented awards for Garuda scouts as many as 114 alert levels, 326 people at the rally level and 81 at the enforcement level.
Happy and cheerful faces seemed to envelop the students, as seen in Naura Alifa Rahma. This female student from Madrasah Aliyah Jabal Nur Kandis expressed her pride in being able to represent the Kandis sub-district to participate in the Scout Day Ceremony in the Regency.
“It’s great to be able to join the Scout Day ceremony here, not everyone can participate. And alhamdulillah, I also got the Garuda Scout award from Ms. Alfedri as the Head of the Siak Branch Quartir, “said Naura, a XII grade student.
He hopes that Scouts can help the government in development, especially helping the government in creating young characters as future nation leaders who have strong physical, mental and spiritual strength in the future. (Adv)
