In the framework of the 75th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, as many as 424 prisoners in the Tembilahan Class IIA Correctional Institution, Indragiri Hilir, received reduced sentences or remissions.
Head of Class II A Indragiri Hilir, Adhi Yanriko through the Head of Binadik Arie Kurniawan said that out of a total of 424 prisoners who received general remissions, none of them immediately got free.
“Actually, there are 7 people who get free remission, but they get a subsidiary penalty for imprisonment, so for the 75th anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia there is currently no free remission,” said Arie.
It is known that the total number of prisoners and inmates in the Class IIA Tembilahan Prison is 671.
“Remission is given as a form of appreciation for the achievement of self-improvement which is reflected in the daily attitudes and behavior of prisoners,” he said.
