In commemoration of the 75th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, the Resort Police of Indragiri Hilir, and their ranks carried out the simultaneous delivery of social assistance directly to underprivileged people affected by Covid-19, on Wednesday, August 19, 2020.
The provision of social assistance simultaneously is a form of concern for the Indonesian National Police, especially the Indragiri Hilir Resort Police and the Sector Police to residents affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, especially in the Indragiri Hilir Regency area.
“This is a form of concern for the community amid the Covid-19 pandemic. I hope this assistance can help a little and ease the burden on the community in Indragiri Hilir Regency,” said Police Chief of Indragiri Hilir Resort Adjunct Senior Commissioner of Police Dian Setyawan before releasing personnel to several points of aid locations.
One of the points of social service was held at the location after the fire on Jalan M Boya, Lorong Nangka Tembilahan Kota. At the location after the fire, the Chief of Police of the Indragiri Hilir Resort, Adjunct Senior Commissioner of Police Dian Setyawan expressed his concern over the fire disaster that had hit the fire victims.
“Ladies and gentlemen, who I respect, we came here to stay in touch with the fire victims and give little food packages. This is an order that the police must care for the community wherever the police are,” he said.
Not to forget, the Indragiri Hilir Police Chief reminded him to always comply with government policies on health protocols such as diligently washing hands, maintaining distance, and always wearing masks when carrying out activities outside the home, this was done to prevent the spread and break the chain of Covid-19.
One of the fire victims, Mr. Budi (60), a representative of fire victims, expressed his gratitude to the police, especially the Indragiri Hilir Resort Police.
“This is how we are after the disaster, sir, and we would like to thank the Chief of Police of the Indragiri Hilir Resort who has assisted, I hope that the one and only God will repay the kindness of the police, especially the Indragiri Hilir Resort Police,” he said.
The food packages distributed to the public were 176 packages containing (milk, instant noodles, sugar, sardines), a total of 10 tons of rice.
