The transmission of COVID-19 still occurs in Indonesia along with the increasing number of cases.
According to data released by the ministry on Thursday, 2,266 new confirmed COVID-19 cases and bringing the total number of infections nationwide to 147,211.
Known, the additional new cases were identified from the examination of 28,824 specimens from 11,774 people. A total of 1,969,941 specimens from 1,108,068 people have been examined.
The examination of specimens was carried out using the real-time Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) method and Molecular Rapid Test (TCM).
Meanwhile, the number of patients who were cured also increased by 2,017 people. The total number of recovered patients has also increased to 100,674. But, the Health Ministry announced 72 more people have died of the disease, bringing the death toll to 6,418.
As information, the cases of COVID-19 in Indonesia are spread across 485 districts/cities in 34 provinces.
The capital city recorded 594 new confirmed cases, bringing the total tally to 31,610. Meanwhile, East Java reported 371 new cases, Central Java 199, South Kalimantan 181, Central Java 168, and Bali 72.
