Brazil’s president, Jair Bolsonaro, threatened to punch a reporter during a question and answer session with local journalists.
This threat was made by Bolsonaro when asked about his wife’s alleged connection to the corruption scandal.
Even reported by the AFP on Monday (24 August 2020), Bolsonaro said his threats many times.
“I really want to hit your mouth with a fist,” Bolsonaro said when a reporter for Brazil’s leading newspaper, O Globo, asked his question.
The reporter, who was not named, was part of a group of journalists who met Bolsonaro after a visit.
Bolsonaro ignored protests from other journalists after he made the threat.
He just left without commenting further.
During the question and answer session, the reporter O Globo asked about the Crusoe magazine report which linked Brazil’s First Lady, Michelle Bolsonaro, with a retired police officer named Fabricio Queiroz.
It is known that Queiroz is a friend of Bolsonaro and a former advisor to Bolsonaro’s son.
Both Queiroz and Flavio are currently being investigated for a corruption scheme that allegedly involved embezzling government employees’ salaries.
