Another fire accident occurred in Indragiri Hilir Regency, on Monday, August 24, 2020, at around 03.00 WIB in the morning.
This time, burning 3 units of residents’ houses on Jalan H Khalid RT 002 RW 002 Flamboyan Hamlet, Teluk Pantaian Village, Gaung Anak Serka District.
Indragiri Hilir Police Chief, Adjunct Senior Commissioner Dian Setyawan, who was confirmed by the media crew, confirmed the fire accident.
He explained, apart from scorching 3 units of residents’ houses, the flames also burned 2 motorbikes and caused 3 people to die.
“The origin of the fire is still being investigated by the Gaung Anak Serka Sector Police and the Indragiri Hilir Resort Police Criminal Resort Unit by bringing in the Puslabfor,” said Indragiri Hilir Police Chief, Adjunct Senior Commissioner Dian Setyawan.
In line with this, Chief of the Gaung Anak Serka Sector Police, Inspector of Police One, Agus Susanto, revealed that the chronology of the incident was discovered when witness Eva Hartati was resting with her husband Mastar and suddenly heard a cry for help from Fatimah’s parent’s house, which is next to her house.
Then, the witness saw that the fire was already burning from inside the house. Seeing this, she also told her husband that there was a fire from the house next door.
The two witnesses immediately went to their parents’ house to help people get out of the house.
Because at that time, those who were in the house were the witness’s parents, his younger brother, his wife and children, and the witnesses’ brothers Ali Husni and Supriandi.
Arriving at the location, the witness saw that his parents had been helped by his brothers Ali Husni and Supriandi to get out of the house.
However, the witness’s younger sibling named IS with his wives LA and Kh who were in the back room could not be helped anymore because they were trapped by the fire.
Furthermore, the residents extinguished the fire with the help of 2 fire engines belonging to the village and 1 machine belonging to the community, so that the fire was extinguished at around 05.00 WIB.
Due to this incident, the material losses suffered by the victims reached around Rp. 700 million.
