Alfedri is pleased with the formation of the Indonesian Traditional Sports Games Committee in Siak district, which has revived folk games that have been rarely played again and hopes that in the future they can reintroduce the younger generation.
“We want children now to recognize sports or traditional games that were previously played by their parents, the dependence of children on gadgets must also be reduced because they have to socialize with the surrounding environment,” he said.
According to him, currently, the government has a little less attention to exercising society and promoting sports. However, the existence of this organization that observes traditional games and sports of the Indonesian people will certainly be a new motivation for the Siak Regency Government.

Chairman of the Indonesian Traditional Sports Games Committee, Fairus Ramli, said that the Siak Regency Indonesian Traditional Sports Games Committee had just been formed. The member of the Siak Regional People’s Representative Council added that the first step that will be taken is mapping and collecting data on games and sports that exist in the Siak community in general.
“After obtaining the data, of course, we will discuss how to socialize and develop it,” he said.
