Hundreds of people infected with the Corona virus originated from a cluster at a wedding reception in Maine, United States.
Three people died and 147 others were infected with COVID-19 after attending the wedding on August 7, 2020.
The event was held in a closed room at the Tri-Town Baptist Church and the reception was held at the Big Moose Inn.
The party was also attended by 65 guests, which should be a maximum of 50 people, in accordance with the provisions of social gatherings in the country.
In the last week of August, local authorities said they had found 53 cases of COVID-19 related to the marriage cluster.
As of Friday (4 September 2020) yesterday, the total number of Maine people who came to the party and those affected by the infection reached 147 people.
According to a spokesman for CDC Maine, Robert Long, the three people who died from COVID-19 apparently did not attend the reception.
The infection from this wedding reception cluster also spread to the prison in Alfred, as one of the prison officials attended the party.
One of them, Theresa Dentremont (83), also did not attend the event.
Theresa’s husband, Frank Determont (97) was also infected and was admitted to the same hospital as his wife. Unlike his wife, Frank was declared cured and could return to his house immediately.
