The Commander of the Regional Military Command, Maj. Gen. TNI Dudung Abdurachman, said that the post for complaints of the community of victims of abuse and vandalism allegedly carried out by a number of TNI personnel in Ciracas, East Jakarta had been closed since Saturday (September 5, 2020) at 06.00 pm.
Dudung said a total of 118 victims had reported their losses.
Of the 118 people, the total loss that had to be paid to the victims, said Dudung, was IDR 594,026,000.
Dudung explained that out of a total of 118 victims, two members of the National Police also received compensation and compensation.
Legal Director of the Indonesian Armed Forces (Dirkumad), Brigadier General Tetty Melina Lubis, revealed the cost of compensation given to victims of mistreatment and destruction allegedly committed by TNI personnel in Ciracas on Saturday (29 August 2020) and then bailed out by the Army Chief of Staff General TNI Andika Perkasa.
He said Andika had ordered his staff directly to provide compensation to the victims because they were concerned about the incident.
Tetty said that later the soldiers who had been proven to have damaged and mistreated the residents had to compensate for the losses that Andika had blocked.
The compensation costs for TNI personnel who have been proven guilty will be taken from the salaries of these TNI personnel.
