Because of a racially insensitive advertisement, a South African retail store chain is forced to close their store after coping with one bad hair day.
At that time, demonstrators have taken to the streets of South Africa to protest Clicks, the nation’s largest pharmacy franchise.
The retail store makes an ad by compares a Black woman’s natural tresses with the caption: “Dry, damaged hair” with that of a white female’s “fine, flat hair.”
As cited News24xx.com from Deutsche Welle, the protesters are accusing the retailer of racism and crassness toward Black physical characteristics and identity. And they also have demanded that the chain shutter its stores for five days.
This is not the first racial case that occurred in South African.
