The sky in the Bay Area, California turned orange and even reddened.
Residents living in the Bay Area, California woke up to an astonishing view on Wednesday (9 September 2020).
The sky, which is usually blue, changes color to orange like on Mars.
CNN reported orange to red skies were also seen covering San Francisco, Oakland, and Berkeley.
The impact of this fire also caused ash rain which began to disturb the people there.
Meteorologist Judson Jones explained the color change occurred as smoke and ash grew thicker near forest fires.
The smoke and ash then cut off the sunlight so that the sky changed color like this.
In addition to the sky turning orange, the smoke from the fire also affects the air quality to be unhealthy.
This poor quality lasted for 25 days, longer than the previous record which lasted 14 consecutive days.
